Herr Gmail spam worker is a personal tool operated on its owner's Mac. This notice describes the configured worker, rather than a public email-processing service.
The worker reads new email content and metadata from Gmail accounts explicitly authorized by the owner. It uses sender information, subjects, message text, timestamps, and labels to classify obvious cold sales, marketing, and ads according to the owner's editable rules. Gmail modify permission enables moving qualifying individual messages to Spam. The worker does not draft or send messages.
Google Pub/Sub carries Gmail change notifications. The Mac retrieves the relevant email through gogcli. Email content needed for classification is sent to OpenAI through the Codex SDK using the owner's ChatGPT subscription. OpenAI's applicable account settings and terms govern its processing and retention. The classifier has no tools to follow links or execute instructions contained in email.
The worker does not sell email data, use it for advertising, or share it with other users. Google user data is used only to provide this personal email-classification function.
Pending email content is held in a private local job database for processing and retries. After processing, the worker removes message bodies and snippets from completed jobs and retains decision metadata for audit and deduplication. Gmail retains the original messages. Local credentials and runtime files are restricted to the Mac user account.
The owner can edit rules, stop the local worker, revoke its Google access through Google Account settings, and remove its local runtime data. Individual spam decisions can be reversed using Gmail's “Not spam” action. The owner is also the operator and support contact shown on the Google consent configuration.
